Along with its fascinating story, Villebois-Lavalette's castle also hosts cultural events throughout the year.

Thanks to these events the thousand-year-old fortress is still alive!

Every year since 2015, in June, we are hosting a Medieval Fair inside the castle.

Every year in September we open the castle with a for free and several guides for the European Heritage Days. Major cultural event in September, European Heritage Days testify since 1984 of the public's interest for places' and art's history. Associating public and private initiatives, every year 17 000 monuments invite  the public to discover the heritage in its great diversity, thanks to meetings with professionals and volunteers who act daily in the service of knowledge, of its protection and development.
